About

Using an ancient technique (with a modern twist) we create unique rings, not just for today but for your future.  Mokume is the perfect choice for your engagement, wedding or right hand ring.  You can choose from a number of striking metal combinations to have your ring custom made in either a classical or contemporary design.  All rings are made in our studio in Bellingham, WA reflecting our commitment to superior craftsmanship.  Our desire is to custom make your ring so it reflects your tastes and individuality.

The rings seen in our collections are a representation of what we can design and fabricate for you.  If you would like to combine elements of different styles or use a different metal combination for a ring you like, please let us know.  If you do not see exactly what you are looking we are happy to work with you to custom design your ring.

Mokume has a rich history reaching back to 17th century Japan.  Mokume was originally used for the adornment of samurai swords.  Just as in the past we create laminated metal billets that are fused by heat and pressure.   Jim developed his own modern method for making mokume gane pioneering the use of the electric kiln for the needed heat.  The billets, composed of various metal combinations, are forged, carved and finished to produce uniquely patterned rings.
